Wood flooring is a beautiful addition to any interior, but to maintain its appearance it is essential that correct maintenance is introduced following installation.  Like a carpet, once the appearance of wood starts to look worn then it is usually too late for normal maintenance procedures to be applied and a full restoration involving sanding and reapplication of the protective coating is required.  MDS are happy to survey any installation and offer advice on correct daily and periodic maintenance, avoiding the risk of expensive restoration further down the road.

If restoration is required because of scratches or damage to the wood surface then we can use the very latest rotary sanding machinery attached to high filtration vacuums, ensuring an almost dust free environment is attained allowing for next day use in most cases.  Depending on whether a high gloss finish or a mat finish is required, then we can discuss the best protective coating to be applied.

We offer a comprehensive wood floor renovation and maintenance service using dust free sanding equipment.

Renovation

To restore the original appearance of your wood floor, to remove al surface damage and create a new look we will sand back the surface to remove any blemishes and other coatings.  A stain dye can be applied in a choice of colours, or if a natural look is required then we will apply a clear oil finish which will enhance the natural beauty of the wood grain & last as a surface protection.

Maintenance

To ensure the appearance is maintained we will devise a programme of works through the year to attend, clean the floor and apply a top coat protection.  The cheapest and best way to preserve your investment.

All work is completed out of hours to cause minimum disruption to the working day.  Vacuums are attached to our sanding equipment to ensure 95% of dust is extracted.  It is not possible to guarantee 100% removal, so dust covers will be placed over all furniture and IT equipment to ensure these are not contaminated and work can proceed as normal.  See attached photos/videos showing our equipment in use and the finishes that can be achieved.
